What I ended up doing until some one does a real fix , Holger Kruse is working on a redo of the PPP.device, is to do the patch to 4.3 and leave it alone the old 4.2 startnet is still there and will run 4.3 just fine.
DO NOT run the 4.3 config!!!!!!!!!!!! I could never get it to config for my server!!!
When doing it this way when you get your hook-up completed there will still be a AmiTCP window open on the screen. it's something about asking for your host for host name. Forget it close it, your are on line.
My server is PPP only and assumes that as soom as I am authorzied via the password that I am PPP and have completed my part of the PPP connect procedure, and I am ready to accept data.
attached is my 4.2 dial script that I am still using.
